These task cards can be used over and over again with ANY nonfiction text you have read. The task cards offer sentence starters, prompts, and different ideas to help students ask a variety of questions about the text they have read. Then, students have to answer the questions.
These activities will help you teach Common Core Standards RI 2.1, RI 3.1 - asking and answering questions.
This resource includes 24 reusable task cards, a student answer key, and a grading rubric.
Since this resource encourages students to ask their own questions, (and every student will ask different questions), no answer key has been provided. The grading rubric will help you assess student understanding as they ask questions about information texts.
Although this resource addresses a specific Common Core standard for 2nd and 3rd grade students, it can also be used by older students, as all students will benefit from being better able to ask and answer questions about a text.
