I use these small assessments to check my students’ progress on their number sense. The first one is reading numbers in random order. I give the students a sheet to read, and then I have a sheet with their name on it to mark. There are 60 numbers in this assessment. I tried to pick the numbers most students may struggle with: numbers 100-120, the teens numbers and the numbers in the ones column (21, 31, etc.), the tens numbers, and then a few other random numbers.
The next two pages are number writing assessments. I give the students the blank page, and use the page with the letters and numbers to tell them what to write.
The final pages focus on counting patterns. I have my students orally count to 120. I also have them count to 100 by 10’s and 5’s, and mark the page the same way. (I also included a chart for counting by 2’s incase anyone needed it.)
These assessments give me a lot of helpful information to present to parents and to help identify the students who need additional practice with numbers 1-120. I hope this pack is helpful for you too!
