Enough Independent Novel Projects to last the entire school year!
This download includes four user-friendly TIC-TAC-TOE grids, each with nine interesting and challenging Common Core Aligned project ideas with differentiated instruction.
Works especially well with coming of age novels.
The teacher version of the TIC-TAC-TOE grids includes a list of Common Core Standards addressed in each of the 36 Novel Project ideas.
The TIC-TAC-TOE format gives students some choice of Independent Novel Projects but also gives teachers some control in structuring student choices.
Currently, the grids are set up with the middle square on each grid as a requirement. Students must select three squares in a row in any direction as long as the middle square is included.
Each of the 36 squares contain an engaging novel project idea.
Project options have been carefully arranged so regardless of which "three in a row" a student selects, there will be an essay requirement. There is NO WAY for students to choose the three easiest assignments with the current setup.
However, grids are EDITABLE to allow you to move project ideas around to accommodate your students.
RUBRICS are included and are also EDITABLE. Rubrics are currently set up to allow a maximum of 50 points per square for a total of 150 points per Independent Novel Project.
My students are required to read one independent novel per quarter. I give students all four grids in advance to allow them to choose a book to accommodate the grid of their choice. A different grid must be used each quarter.
30 pages including cover page.
