As a Teacher of the Deaf, I often have to explain the differing pieces of Assistive Technology (AT) that currently exist for individuals with hearing loss and/or deafness. In order to ensure a successful delivery of this information to administration, educational staff, parents and/or guardians, students, etc., a colleague of mine and I created this 26 Slide PowerPoint. It thoroughly explains the differing Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) that are available to individuals with hearing loss and also provides visuals to further assist them in building an understanding of what's available to them and their students. This has truly been a great tool for in-services at the beginning of the school year, beginning of semesters with new educational staff, IEP Meetings when technology changes are needing to be made and during Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Sessions to increase my student's understanding of the current technologies. I hope you find it as useful as I do!
