What do you know about working with English Language Learners? Take a short quiz that asks if 8 common assumptions about ELLs are True or False, then learn what the research says about each assumption. Finish by writing a short reflection about what you learned after viewing this PowerPoint video.

The supplemental PDF file includes the quiz and reflection questions to print out so you can easily answer the questions as the video is playing.

The video provides time for viewers to do the quiz and reflection and to read the information given for each assumption. These pauses are intentional and may seem lengthy but were designed so that viewers do not have to stop the video to finish reading the text or do the tasks. Of course, if more time is needed, you can just pause the video until you are ready to continue watching.

Use this video as a springboard for increasing your knowledge about working with ELLs!
