This activity was inspired by one of the "Astérix" albums called "La Grande Traversée", in particular by the part where Astérix and Obélix are trying to explain to a tribal chef what it means to be "Gaulois". There are some adjectives and the verb "aimer" to do so.
This is how I suggest you might want to use this authentic material to boost students' creativity and imagination.
1. Per picture clues students have to guess how Astérix and Obélix describe the "Gaulois".
2. Reveal the original text and have students see what they guessed right.
3. Have students do a dramatic reading in pairs.
4. Have students do their own mini "bande dessinée" called "Les Américains"
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
