This is a lesson plan that will make learning and practicing observation and science process skills FUN.
Since elementary level science doesn't technically cover space, this lesson is focused on observation skills (which is covered in the elementary science curriculum) through an integrated science/ELA curriculum.
Space is a great topic to use for practice with process skills at a younger age because it is fun and it gives the students a foundation for the spiraling of the curriculum when they learn space in upper elementary.
This lesson transforms your classroom and gives the students a more authentic experience for learning science, particularly space.
**I have used this lesson in my classroom and it has been very successful. Students loved it, learned a lot, and parents were excited to see their kids come home happy to talk about what they learned!
