This is a basic short cycle assessment covering Earth in relation to its orbit and axis. Questions covered are as followed:
1.) Which word describes the Earth's axis?
2.) What orbits the Earth?
3.) What does the Earth orbit?
4.) About how much of the Earth's surface is covered by water?
5.) 5.) What do we call the time of day when the Eastern Hemisphere rotates out of the sun's light?
6.) If the Northern Hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, what season is it?
7.) Why does the Earth look blue from space (extended response)?
All of the questions are multiple choice except for one extended response question. The assessment covers the basics and is great for special education students or those who are on alternate assessment. Also aligns with fifth grade science common core standards. Created by Craig Weaver.
