Product Description
Are you struggling with finding a creative way to teach history in science? This timeline activity will show your students how the major ideas of astronomy have changed over time. It will highlight the discoveries of Ptolemy, Copernicus, Brahe, Kepler, Galileo, Newton, and Hubble. I usually use this as an introduction to my astronomy unit; however it can be used at other spots in your lesson plans as well. This activity usually takes my students 2-3 class periods (3 with the quiz) using textbooks that cover all of the material in the timeline. It may take more or less time for your students if you are using computers or library books for looking up information.

This lesson includes:
*Teacher’s notes
*Student directions
*Scientist pictures
*Pictures of scientist discoveries/theories
*Timeline key
*Timeline rubric
*Two versions of astronomy timeline quiz with keys
