This is a whole unit on the Solar System. This unit covers the formation of the solar system and the planets and other objects and how they are all oriented in the solar system.
This package includes:
1. Sample pacing/lesson plans for the unit.
2. Lecture notes:
-"The Solar System": covers the formation of the solar system, extrasolar planets, the make up of the solar sytem, and other, non-planetary, objects in the solar system.
"Patterns in the Solar System": students use data about the planets to note the differences between the inner and outer planets as well as determine if there are any patterns to their location in the solar system.
"Solar System Scale Model": students create a scale model of the solar system using either toilet paper or sidewalk chalk.
"Planet Data Search": students create a data table for the planets by matching data in a word bank with the planet to which it belongs.
ALL Activities and Worksheets include answer keys.
5. Video Sheets:
-"Video Questions": these questions go along with "Crash Course Astronomy" videos on the Solar System. These videos can be found on YouTube.
6. Question bank for a possible test.
