What educators are saying

This resource has been a wonderful tool to share with parents during a parent conference. This resource provides families with tips to help their child grow as a reader!
I use this as a parent handout at an open house and parent/teacher conference. The parents are grateful for the resource to use at home with their children.

Description

Parent support for reading at home is so important! Parents are so busy that this parent letter will provide support for students reading take home books. It features comments that parents can make to support their child's word-solving (decoding), fluency and comprehension. Parents don't always have "reading-teacher-language" on the tip of their tongues to compliment and/or support their readers. This document will do just that, providing information on comprehension, fluency and word-solving.

For each of my first graders, I print this on cardstock, laminate and store in each child's Take Home Book Envelope.

This is a non-editable PDF file created with first graders in mind, though it will be helpful with all early readers.
