This is a one-page article in Spanish about the terrorist attack that occurred in Barcelona on August 17, 2017. The article is written almost entirely with cognates so that even students that just began Spanish can understand the reading (probably still with difficulty, depending on how long they have been in class and their English literacy). Students in second year Spanish and beyond will be able to read this article with great ease. Two versions of the article are included; one with footnotes and one without.
Please consider pairing this article with the "La paz empieza contigo" presentation, which is explained and linked here.
This article is NOT part of the 2017-2018 subscription to El mundo en tus manos. If you are trying to access the full-year subscription please click here.
EL MUNDO EN TUS MANOS is a bi-weekly publication that provides comprehensible news summaries from Spanish speaking countries to students.
