This is a fun way for students to practice using latitude and longitude to find cities and countries. Students will use a mobile device to scan QR codes and then look up the given information in an atlas.
*Students will use be able to use coordinates (latitude and longitude) to find a city and country in an atlas.
*Students will be able to use the index of their atlas to check their answers and also find coordinates when given the name of a city.
*This activity is best done after students have already practiced using an atlas to find a city, country with coordinates*
1-2 class periods (definitely 2 if this is the first time students have worked with QR codes)
Mobile device with a camera (1/group)
App [free] installed on device to read QR codes
World atlas (1/group)
