The Atom Model Project is a project in which each student creates a model of an atom from the periodic table. On the assignment, students are able to chose an atom from atomic number 4 through 18 (but if you message me, I can change that for you). There are thorough instructions, and explanations (a reminder for parents) about protons, neutrons, electrons, etc.
I woud give my students about two weeks to complete these projects at home. They are allowed to use anything to create their models, and do not have to go out an purchase anything. When the projects are completed, each student presents theirs to the class. I then save the projects and display them on the student desks at open house.
