Atom Rotation Activity
The objective of this activity is to give students an opportunity to practice determining the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in an atom as well as determining the atomic number, atomic mass, and charge.
13 Station Cards are can be printed and laminated and placed around the classroom. Students get with a partner and pick a station. With their partner, students will use the information provided at each station to fill in the chart on their "Atom Rotation Activity" WS. (3 example station cards are also provided for classroom instruction before beginning the activity.)
Each Station Contains One of the Following:
- Drawing of an atom
- Atom symbol with atomic number, atomic mass, and charge
- Three statements (pertaining to # of electrons, protons, and
neutrons and/or atomic number, atomic mass, and charge)
