In this video, which ties in with my "Atom-Properties" worksheet, I walk through how to determine the number of protons, electrons, and neutrons that a given atom has, as well as its mass number and atomic number, provided you've been given some information to begin.
For example, if I know the number of protons, and the mass number, this video will explain how to determine the missing numbers.
With an understanding of a few tricks, and some practice, this chemistry skill that frustrates many students can be easily mastered!
The video is1080p and is 4:30 long.
I've added a downloadable copy of the video as a supporting document.
This will allow you to share it with your students PRIVATELY, such as via Google Classroom.
