This resource has two different Interactive Notebook pages about atoms and subatomic particles (protons, neutrons, and electrons). The first page, Part One, contains the informational notes about atoms and subatomic particles. The teacher can read the notes from Part One aloud from the Teacher’s Version and introduce the topic through lecture while students listen and fill in their notes. A simple PowerPoint can be used to go along with this, but that is completely optional. The second page, Part Two, gives students fun practice with the information they learned about in Part One. After you go over the Part One notes together students can complete Part Two as a class, in small groups, or individually (which would make a good check for understanding). Students could then have discussions about what they chose to draw for each subatomic particle and how they labeled each part of the atom. At the end of the lesson, students should glue the pages into their Interactive Notebooks.
This resource includes multiple printing options so teachers can print exactly what they need. A teacher's version and picture of a completed example are also included.
This resource is also available as part of a money-saving package.
The Atoms and Subatomic Particles PACKAGE
includes these Interactive Notebook pages, a worksheet, a fun project, and an exit ticket.
