This PowerPoint file is a wonderful presentation about the structure of atoms, how to interpret the Periodic Table of Elements, and the differences between covalent and ionic bonds. I have also included a “fill-in-the-blank” style worksheet to accompany these notes for you to distribute to your students if you wish. There are 16 slides in this PowerPoint, which contains a very nice collection of images and animations to assist with understanding. All pictures used are in the “public domain” so there is no worry of copyright violation. At the end is a quick practice quiz for your students to try if you wish to check for understanding.
