Product Description
This lesson covers atoms, elements, compounds, subatomic particles (protons, neutrons, and electrons), atomic number, atomic mass, mass, volume, matter, and modeling of the atom.

This lesson will help your students prepare for standardized tests by mastering the key concepts surrounding atoms and elements. Full teacher keys are included. I use this lesson as a key tool to help my students prepare for the STAAR test. The lesson specifically covers TEKS 6.5A, 6.5C, 8.3B, 8.3D, 8.5A, 8.5B.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE LESSON?

✓ A five page reading passage with graphics and QR codes that guide students to video clips that support the lesson.

✓ A check for understanding quiz with key.

✓ Two differentiated versions of a cut and paste interactive notebook entry covering key vocabulary in the lesson.

✓ Two differentiated versions of an atoms and elements riddle worksheet covering key topics of the lesson.

✓ Two versions of a word search using key vocabulary from the lesson. One version is a full page and the other has two word searches per page to save paper and ink. Same content in both versions.

Approximately two to three class period in length (as a point of reference, I teach a 50-minute class). I generally use all the resources as class work, use the word search for early finishers, and complete the full lesson in three class periods. Created by Mister Science.
