Product Description
The Food and Drug Administration has identified over 40 types of bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi that can contaminate foods thus causing foodborne illness. However, the FDA has selected six that are the most contagious and cause the most severe symptoms. These six include Salmonella Typhi, Nontyphoidal Salmonella, Shigella, E coli, Hepatitis A and Norovirus. Since these biological pathogens are the greatest threat to food safety, it is important that your students are familiar with their sources, food preferences and prevention methods.

Therefore, introduce your students to the “Big Six” Pathogens with this fun and fast paced game. Attack the Germs is a great game to play when you are studying food sanitation principles. I use it when reviewing for the ServSafe® exam. In this game, you will meet characters like Nauseating Norovirus and Sickening Salmonella Typhi.

The teacher will first divide the students into teams. Then the teacher will call out test questions related to pathogens. If the team answers correctly, then they will have one attempt to wipe out an opposing germ. Play continues until there is only one germ remaining.

Please note that there are 40 questions included with this purchase. Teachers can also add their own questions with this game. Additional ideas for this game are also included.
