Looking for some new materials to help your students master the Common Core Math Standards?
Each learning bundle includes an interactive notebook activity with a communication through writing task, cooperative learning activity, challenge task, independent practice page, and a journal assignment emphasizing the standard below.
The skills emphasized in this series are based on the following Common Core State Standards for Math:
* 5.G.A.1- Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., x-axis and x-coordinate, y-axis and y-coordinate).
Focus on the Core Learning Bundles are designed to support your students’ mastery of the Common Core math standards through interactive notebook activities, cooperative learning, challenge tasks, independent practice, and assessment tools. The included learning materials can be used for review, intervention, and/or challenge. The learning activities may be used to support student learning of specific content in a whole class, small group, or intervention setting.

Hey Texas Teachers: This pack is also aligned to fifth-grade TEKS 5.8A (describe the key attributes of the coordinate plane, including perpendicular number lines (axes) where the intersection (origin) of the two lines coincides with zero on each number line and the given point (0, 0); the x-coordinate, the first number in an ordered pair, indicates movement parallel to the x-axis starting at the origin; and the y-coordinate, the second number, indicates movement parallel to the y-axis starting at the origin).
I hope this bundle helps your students master the Common Core State Standards!- The Routty Math Teacher
