Using learned vocabulary, students will compose a persuasive audio commercial and flier about a community or school event, such as a play, movie, concert, or art exhibit.
I created this project for Spanish II students, but it could be adapted for any language and any level. I included both the exact project sheet I use for my Spanish students (still mostly in English) and also an English-only version with items to be changed in red (dates, locations, other things that will be specific to your school).
There is also a very specific rubric and a listening guide that you can have students fill out as you listen to their commercials in class.
This project requires at least 7 50-minute periods to complete and access to a computer lab with headsets/microphones. The 7 days include 2 days for an Audacity tutorial.
Audacity is a FREE audio recording program with many powerful features. If your students already know how to use the Audacity program or if you will be using a different program, you can remove those two work days.
My Audacity Tutorial is for sale as a separate lesson. You are welcome to make your own or use another tutorial.
