Make story time interesting. PowerPoint audio books read to the students. This story is from First Phonics, a phonics curriculum for preschoolers. There are 31 stories about the alliterative characters from the program. Included with each story is the character’s song. Most of the stories subtly teach a character-building trait. This one teaches to go one even when things don't turn out as expected:
Marty puts on a magic show...the only problem….he doesn’t know how to do magic. His assistant, Squeaky Squirrel isn’t very happy about having to do the tricks with him. But none of the tricks work. When he tries to find his magic coin behind Squeaky’s ear, it is in his pocket, when he tries to pull a rabbit from his hat….he gets a skunk instead. But the big finale is making Squeaky disappear. When squeaky will not cooperate and sneak out the back of the box, Marty has to pull her out. The audience loves the show…..not for the magic, but because it is so funny to see the embarrassment on Marty’s face when things go wrong.
