Easily incorporate technology to your sight word work centers! Students scan the QR code, listen to me read the sight word, and then match the word they hear to the sight word fry. Once students find the match, the write the sight word on a student recording sheet.
I felt it was important to incorporate listening into word work to make sure students are correctly reading sight words. Students will enjoy scanning the ketchup QR code to listen to the word and then search for the matching fry!
This creation includes 3 sets of 18 words. On page 3 (available to view in thumbnail) is a list of the 54 sight words used. I use a mix of sight words that fit with our reading curriculum.
I have included both an answer key for each set for grading or students to self-check. I recommend having students show you a completed chart before letting them check, but of course, that is up to you!
The “Write the Word” recording sheet may be placed in a page protector with dry erase to save on copies.
To print, you may print normal or print 2/page and QR codes will still work! Lamination is highly recommended.
You will need a QR reader and tablets/phones to scan the codes. There are many free QR scanners, and kids are quick to learn how to use this technology!
