I felt it was important to incorporate listening into word work to make sure students are correctly reading sight words.
This creation includes 2 sets for a total of 36 Dolch Sight Words. Students scan QR code to listen to and then match the sight word. Differentiate with pre-primer and primer sight words. Use as task cards, write the room, word work centers.
This is not intended to be an extensive review of all sight words, but of commonly used sight words and also often misspelled words. It is a shorter set for an honestly shorter holiday in my classroom :)
The first 18 words are pre-primer words and it is color coded green.
The second 18 words are primer words and it is color coded black.
I have included both a typed/written answer key and a version that students can scan to self-check. Feel free to work whatever is best for you. I recommend having students show you a completed chart before letting them check, but of course, that is up to you!
The “Write the Word” recording sheet may be placed in a page protector with dry erase to save on copies.
I actually have printed the pot of gold and rainbow card pages 2 to a page, and the QR codes still scan. Thus, one game only takes up 2 pages of color printing and lamination!
You will need a QR reader and tablets/phones to scan the codes. There are many free QR scanners, and kids are quick to learn how to use this technology!
