The star of the Short O stories is OOO Octopus who loves to dance, sing and play instruments, saying "ooo". As he tries different instruments and sings he introduces the word families: ob, od, og, on, op, ot, ox
The star of the Short U stories is UUU Umbrella who loves to think before he starts to talk, always saying "uuu" As he gives different opinions in each of the stories he introduces the word families: ub, ug, um, un, up, us, ut.
The Double Letter stories have Lll Ladder, a very long ladder who looks like a double l. He introduces the word families: all, ell, ill and ull. Then SSS Snake FFF Fox explain how some words end in double ss or ff. In the next story CCC Cat and Kangaroo play soccer and make "ck, ck, ck" sounds. Finally Queen and Umbrella fall in love, never to be separated.
The stories can be played on a computer or a tablet, but must be played in Adobe Reader. The audio will not work in Preview, but can be played on a Mac if the file is opened in Adobe Reader. To play the audio on an I-pad it is necessary to download the app ezPDF Reader.
The stories can also be printed and posted for reference or put together in a class book.
