Looking for a fun way to integrate tech and bring learning to life for your students? This timeline activity is not your everyday timeline- students scan the dates which contain Augmented Reality that will bring up a video about the event. Lower-level students use the information in the videos to match the dates with the events described on the event cards, while higher-level students match the dates and events first, and self-check using the videos. This activity is especially great for ELL or SpEd learners. For a quick tutorial on getting started with Augmented Reality, check out my video on How to Use My Augmented Reality Items
This activity includes 9 event cards, 9 date cards, and 1 recording sheet. Students order the events in chronological order, then add the date cards to the bottom of each event.
For those who don't wish to break out the technology, This activity can still be an engaging and meaningful way for students to sequence the major events of the American Revolution, from the British Occupation of New York through the Treaty of Paris and the signing of the US Constitution.

This can be used in a variety of ways from center work, to partner work to individual early-finisher work. Suggestions for use are included within.
Set this up as a tech center for iPads, iPhones, or Android devices. Each device only needs the FREE Aurasma app.
Teacher Notes- Aurasma
Aurasma is a free app that allows you to bring learning to life with Augmented Reality. Simply download the app onto your iPad, iPhone, or android device or smartphone. Print up the cards, follow my channel, and bring in your device (or have students bring theirs)- no more prep is needed. Check out the instructions in the product or the video linked to above for instructions!
*Please note that laminating the cards often causes glare and the app will have trouble accessing the auras.
