August is a month to celebrate summer, libraries, and swimming pools. August Is...is an adapted, interactive book for older students. The pictures are appropriate for upper elementary as well as middle and high school students. This book is appropriate for readers and nonreaders alike. The predictable sentences and picture cues allow for easy comprehension and sentence formulation when retelling. There are 12 pages in the story including 2 activity pages. All of the picture images are also provided.
August Is...teaches these concepts of the eighth month of the year and the last month of summer. It also encourages students to think about summer activities and allows them to include their own experiences.
Each page includes space for 1-2 images to be placed. Instructions are provide showing where to place the images.
