Have you ever had your students tell you that they don't know what to write about, but you don't want to give them a specific topic so they show their own creativity?
Squiggle writing solves that problem.
First the kids finish the drawing that is started on the page, using their own imagination on what it looks like.
Then they write about what it looks like.
As the year goes on and their writing skills improve, the writing lines progressively get smaller and the students have to write more. Since this product is for the beginning of the year, I typically just have the kids label their picture instead of write sentences.
