August to May Everyday Writing Journals Printables is a a printable version of our “Everyday Writing Journal Prompts” as opposed to the PowerPoint version. If you would prefer the PowerPoint version, please check out our TpT store for that version.
“August to May Everyday Writing Journal Printables" provides you at your fingertips a year’s worth of quality daily writing prompts for your students to journal. The students should start out by finishing the journal prompt with one sentence and then illustrate their sentence. Gradually, I encourage my students (especially the ones who are capable) to write at least 3 sentences and then gradually they will begin write stories.
Doing writing journals everyday provides the students the opportunity to develop their writing skills and to use their imagination. Students, in time, learn to develop their creative writing skills.
Everyday Writing Journal Prompts are organized by month and themes. You can purchase them by month or in a bundle deal for the entire year.
These journal prompts are intended to be copied and glued into writing journals. We have included several prompts on each page for ease of copying. Although we use the PowerPoint version in our classrooms, this can be used very similarly. Our suggestion would be to make sure that each student has their own “writing journal.” At the beginning of the year, teach the students how to date the top of each page, where to glue the journal prompt, and where to begin writing. Be sure to let students share their journal entries after sufficient time is given to write.
