August/September Encyclopedia Research Task Cards with Self-Checking QR Codes

Updated to include a Google Slides option for Distance Learning!

This is a set of 16 encyclopedia research task cards. I thought this would be a reasonable number of cards for students to complete in a 30-45 minute class session (My media classes are in this range). These task cards are also perfect for teachers to use in a research center in their classroom. Engaging activity for the beginning researcher!

This product is part of a money-saving bundle of task cards found here:

Encyclopedia Research Task Cards with Self-Checking QR Codes BUNDLE!

I print these off on cardstock and laminate for durability so that I can reuse them the following year.

There are many ways to use these task cards. Students can complete these individually, in small groups or as a “Scoot” game. You could also use them for a “Question of the Day/Week” activity.

Our district has a paid subscription to World Book Online. If you don’t have access to World Book online, you should be able to use these task cards using print encyclopedias or other online reference sites.

This product includes:

-16 Task Cards

-Student Recording Sheet in both Color and Blackline

-Answer Sheet with Printed Answers

-Self-Checking QR Codes in both “Task Card” format and “Answer Sheet” format

Students love using QR codes! You would need to download a scanner app to your devices to use the QR codes (there are several free scanning apps available). I use the “Scan – QR Code and Barcode Reader” by QR Code City.
