To address these questions, I have created a series of questions levelled by AusVELS progression points, for you to ask your students.
Each question is designed to be used with any book and the whole series of questions covers off all of AusVELS Reading and Viewing strand from 0.5 (the first progression point) to 2.5 (expected mid-way through Year 3). Therefore, these will cover the majority of all early years classes.
The cards are worded in child-friendly language and have the relevant content description from AusVELS listed on each card. I have provided them in black and white and also colour. I've included instructions on how I prepare these cards. Please download the preview file to read this. These cards have been a huge help for me by ensuring that I am constantly working at the appropriate level for each of my students.
They also help me give specific feedback to parents on the elements their child needs to improve on to reach the next stage or progression point in their school report.
