Australia Day, January 26th, is often put on the back-burner in classrooms due to the fact it coincides with the hectic back to school week. This pack contains worksheets and activities that are easy to facilitate, but also meaningful, about Australia Day.
The sheets that require tracing over the words use Queensland beginners alphabet. This font is basically the same as all other beginners fonts that are used around the country.
I have included any ACARA outcomes that might be relevant, but obviously there might be more, or different ones that you see fit to use. These have been listed by learning area and year level on pages at the end of the pack. While this pack has been designed with Prep to Year 2 in mind, there are activities that are suitable for classes to Year 4
Some extra resources are needed for some of the activities such as newspapers, magazines and junk mail. Two books that would also be really helpful to complete the activities are ‘The Little Refugee’ by Anh and Suzanne Do and Mirror by Jeannie Baker.
All worksheets are Copyright of Annette Fraser. They are for personal use in classrooms or other teaching situations.
You may NOT sell, share, trade or redistribute the worksheets in any way.
