This is a short journal for students who are studying Australian animals. This journal booklet includes six pages of work, where students interests are taken into consideration, and they get an opportunity to research and explore their favourite Australian animal. The activities included in the journal include drawing the picture of their favourite Australian animal, researching where does the animal live, how does it live and any other important facts about the animal. Students will also get an opportunity to share why this animal is their favourite animal. Additionally, students will get an opportunity to work with graphic organizers by listing other Australian animals, endangered animals, and the list of places that help these animals. The students will also get a chance to work on a graphic organizer after visiting the zoo, sharing what they have heard, saw, felt and learned at the zoo. Finally, they will be able to include their own pictures from the zoo, with descriptions of those pictures. The journal concludes with a page that asks the students critical questions such as why people should help conserve wildlife and ways in which they can help, as well as how students helped and why.
