Australian Animals Literacy Workstation Task
This task is great to add to your Australia themed resources or a fun way to reinforce beginning sounds. It also can help children work on their fine motor control...
Let me explain how....
Print out the cards and cut them out. Each card has the picture of an Australian animal and their name written in the centre. The end sound is underlined. Children then look for the end sound and use a single hole, hole punch to put a dot on the matching sound. For example, for koala, kids would find all of the letter a's they can and use the hole punch to punch on that letter. Another way that it could be used is to simply get the children to colour the appropriate letter with coloured pencils as well as the animal in the centre - giving it a habitat as well ;-)
Could be used at a literacy station or for individuals working on end sounds or however you choose really!
Thanks so much for visiting.
