Product Description

Georgiana McCrae left a life of wealth and privilege in England when she migrated with her husband who was tasked with establishing the new colony in Australia. On arrival in Australia, Georgiana faced a harsh existence in very basic conditions but she was determined to bring a sense of class and social order to the new colony despite it being dominated by men. One way she did this was by painting the landscape and people.  In this resource, Georgiana McCrae visits Miss Townsend’s class to share her story.

Miss Townsend isn’t your average teacher. She ensures her students are totally engaged in her lessons by transporting famous Australians to her classroom for the students to interview and learn from. Georgiana is one of these special visitors and your students will be as engaged as Miss Townsend’s class by her story.

The five activities included in this pack are:
Georgiana McCrae’s visit with Miss Townsend’s class – Text
Comprehension Flip Book
Adjective foldable activity
Vocabulary Vase
A letter home writing activity
Bonus: Georgiana McCrae  Mini-unit title page
