37 pages of activities for varying money abilities based around making the same amount/value using different coin combinations. Too often when I teach money skills students will say such things as they cannot make $1 because they don’t have two 50cent coins and are unable to look at other alternatives. These activities are aimed at showing the range of possible combinations to make certain amounts.
Included in this pack:
Money Value Displays - These displays show ways to make $2, $1, 50cents, 20cents and 10cents using different coin combinations.
Value Match – An activity where students must add up the coin amounts on each of the 24 cards and match the two that equal the same amount. Students then record their answers on the answer sheet. A great centre or scavenger hunt activity.
Money 2 Ways – 1 student or 2 student options for this activity. Match the picture and price tag puzzle piece with two other puzzle pieces that add up to that same amount. 10 puzzle sets included.
Bumping Totals Game – Spin the spinner to see an amount. Find that amount on the board in one of 2 different versions. A game for 2 players.
Money Worksheets –
* Match the Amounts – add the coins in the piggy banks and then add the coins in each tag to match the same amount.
* Make It Different Worksheet – make the written values different to the coin combinations shown.
* How Many Ways Worksheet differentiated set – Make the shown amount in a variety of different ways on these worksheets. Cut out the coins provided or make rubbings of real coins. Students new to the concept can work on worksheets with values of 50cents, $1 and $2. Students reinforcing the concept can work on worksheets with values for $1.50 and $3.20.
