This resource is a ten page PDF document on the Australian floral emblems for each state and territory. Please note that these activities focus on state and territory emblems and do not include the wattle as the floral emblem of Australia.
The first activity provides students with the opportunity to match the floral emblems to the appropriate state or territory. The emblems are in black and white for the students to colour.
The second activity involves students completing a table which includes a picture of each emblem, its name and the state or territory it belongs to. There is also a second version of this activity which includes colour photos of the emblems rather than black and white drawings.
Answer sheets are also included for teacher reference.
These activities would also be appropriate to be used as an assessment activity at the conclusion of a unit of work.
This activity was written to support the new Australian Curriculum History K-10 Syllabus.
Education Australia has other resources available for purchase.
