4 day lesson/mini unit that covers sewing machine vocab and threading for beginner sewers. The sewing machine used in these lessons is the Daisy Husqvarna 315. Lesson includes a vocab strategy and activity to support parts of speech practice. This lesson supports cross curricular education of ELA and Authentic Literacy. Lesson includes two formative assessments to see where the students are at in their learning.
Students first learn and identify the vocabulary associated with a sewing machine. Then students use vocabulary to practice threading the machines. Lastly. students are given a Mad Lib activity to help test their knowledge of both machine threading and vocab words.
