Author Study Dinner Project is a great way for students to research a favorite author and connect with the books written by that author. This culminating project has the student reading two books from a favorite author, in a timeline worked out between you and the student. The format allows students choices about researching the author and completing a double entry journal while they read two books of their choice. Finally, students use the author’s craft to create a piece similar to their chosen authors style or write letters to the author regarding the stories they’ve read. Students enjoy researching their authors and sharing that information!
The Author Study Dinner Project includes a detailed project description for students and teachers to use, and grading rubric.
