Author's Craft and Mentor Sentences iPad Reading or Writing Workshop Activity

Mentor sentences on the iPad! Find and celebrate great writing and author’s craft by easily integrating this low prep & creative iPad® mobile digital device activity into your reading or writing workshop, centers or whole group lessons.

Students will use the included sheets to first look for a mentor sentence in any fiction text that is an example of a specific author’s craft technique. Next they will display their mentor sentences as a quote poster on the free app Typorama! Not only will students enjoy searching for mentor sentences to make their posters, but they will be motivated to try out the techniques in their own writing.


Packet includes everything your students need to complete the project on the app independently:

You will need the free app Typorama. A clickable QR code to download the app from the App Store® online store is included in this packet. Students will also need access to fiction books in the classroom.
