Thanks for viewing this product! This purchase contains 18 Author’s Point of View Task Cards based around 6 different subjects (school uniforms, trophies for all, cursive handwriting, parent help with homework, cell phones for kids, and video games). My curriculum calls for students to differentiate between biased and objective points of views, so the task cards come with appropriate headers in which students are asked to sort the points of view cards under (however, this is not the only way to use these cards (see below)). There is also a recording sheet and answer key included!
These cards can also be used for other activities besides a sort. With my advanced reading groups, I picked three different view points on the same subject. We talked about the differences in opinions in the cards, and then the students wrote a quick compare/contrast paragraph with the authors’ viewpoints. My lower group, just highlighted the different language that was used to show difference of opinions. The possibilities are endless with these cards.
These cards are perfect for students to complete in a center, small group with the teacher, or for whole class discussions. Simply print, cut, and laminate! Please contact me if you should have any questions :)
