The performance task asks them to evaluate other student responses on the printable.

I usually ask them their opinion before the reading, have them discuss why, then have them read the passages. After we debate both sides, I ask if anyone's opinion has changed. After that I have them independently complete the comprehension questions and the performance task. This passage is generally what I use as an assessment, as the questions ask students to think deeply about the authors' perspective.
