This is a great bundle. It has been helpful when teaching author's point of view. I like the variety of activities too.

Here's what you get in this one stop shop for Author's Point of View/Perspective:

Author's POV/Perspective PRINTABLES~Variety of Uses!

*1 author's point of view chart & teacher guide-great for interactive notebooks and classroom discussions about how to find the author's point of view, what active readers think about through the reading process, and what types of questions you may see after reading comprehension selections.

*A brief informational passage that poses the question of whether or not kids should be assigned homework. This particular passage is set up in a very concrete manner with mostly straight forward questions that can be found directly in the text. I use this right after we have filled out the note page to model my thinking when it comes to answering the questions.

*An informational passage about Earth Day where both authors feel strongly about the importance of taking care of our planet. I usually read this passage with my students and walk through the questions and my thinking before letting them finish with a partner. The performance task asks them to evaluate other student responses on the printable.

*An informational passage about whether or not animals should perform in the circus. This passage is perfect for conversation about children's opinions. I usually ask them their opinion before the reading, have them discuss why, then have them read the passages. After we debate both sides, I ask if anyone's opinion has changed. After that I have them independently complete the comprehension questions and the performance task. This passage is generally what I use as an assessment, as the questions ask students to think deeply about the authors' perspective.
