Give your students an authentic learning experience and help you broaden your horizons to try new food. You can have fun with this persuasive activity and get creative. I asked my students to help me come up with a new food item for the thanksgiving table.
First, my students researched specific foods that their family eat all the time. They wrote down ingredients in the food to help develop details for their writing.
Second, my students completed the first page of the file that provided them with sentence starters to effectively write a persuasive paragraph.
Last, my students used their first draft to create a final draft (second page of the file). I let them use their first draft as a resource, but asked them to write down more if they came up with different ideas.
