Author's Purpose is as easy as "PIE" with this activity! Students will learn to identify text selections as PERSUASIVE, INFORMATIVE, or ENTERTAINING {P.I.E.}

Included in this product is:

- an anchor chart describing each purpose and giving a general example of each. This could be shrunk down to fit into an Interactive Notebook, too!

- a worksheet for students to search through their textbook to identify text selections that are written for each purpose. Can be used with ANY textbook!

- a set of 20 task cards (with answer form and answer key) Each card is numbered and when used with "Task Card Answer Form" students can record their answers and self-check with answer key.
