This lesson has 28 domino sets to help teach students about author's purpose!
This lesson includes:
- 2 Cute colorful poster sets explaining the three types of P.I.E.
- 28 sets of dominoes that students have to sort and match up.
- An answer key of all 28 sentences and their perspective PIE category!
One one side of the domino will be a few short sentences. Students will have to figure out if this is an example of persuasive writing, informative writing, or entertainment writing. Their next domino should match the label of either "Persuade, Inform, or Entertainment" and should be touching so the two dominoes form a train or link!
Put 2-3 different colored sheets of printer paper (or cardstock) back to back and laminate them so they stay sturdy year after year!
Students will have so much fun reading the interesting facts and funny stories as they try and form links!
WAY more fun than a boring practice worksheet! Let students complete the set on their own or with a partner but watch their excitement grow as the domino train gets bigger and bigger!!!
