This is a worksheet created over author's purpose. After a lesson over the skill, the students can practice author's purpose by completing this activity. A fun way to practice this skill would be to turn it into a sorting activity. Cut in between the passages to create strips. Place signs in corners of the room that read "To Inform," "To Entertain," and "To Persuade." The students can read their strip and walk to the appropriate sign. This is a great kinesthetic activity to practice author's purpose.
