The students read a text, or teacher reads a text, discuss what author's purpose means and discuss the text. Students will then fill out the worksheet explaining the purpose for the author to write the text. To persuade, inform, or entertain? The student write a brief explanation of their answer. Then the look through the text and write a part in the text they read that made them think that the author's purpose was this. The last thing they do it draw a picture of that moment I the text, labeling the picture.
