GOAL/ESSENTIAL QUESTION/BIG IDEA - How do writers express their theme through their writer’s voice? How can I better express my thoughts, feelings, lessons, and voice in my writing?
OBJECTIVES - To read closely to determine what the text says, make inferences, cite evidence, determine the main idea and theme, and analyze how the writer developed their voice/message through words and phrases.
I stumbled upon this stimulus to pair it with a novel we were reading. It was so well-written and my students enjoyed it so much, I developed it into a unit of study for Author's Voice, Theme, and a multitude of other standards that can be taught using this narrative.
