Authors and Illustrators Birthdays! 12 bulletin boards for one low price!!! A dollar a bulletin board! When have you spent that??
This product contains birthdays and biographical information for 141 authors for all 12 months of the year! Also included are bookmarks that can be printed for your class or school so you can celebrate reading all year long!
This makes a great bulletin board easily changed monthly. Also, included are editable pieces to add in more authors and their information or you could add photos of the authors or covers of their books. I, of course, couldn’t do this as it violates copyright but YOU can! Or you can just leave the cakes plain with just the authors/illustrators names. On the gifts are clues to who the authors featured are and written as if the author/illustrator is giving the clues. It is in a “Who Am I?” format. An answer key is also included. You do not need to put the gift “clues” out but I think it makes for a festive party board! If you are not a year-round school you can always do a summer birthday board before school ends!
If you are doing this school-wide, the clues are also written on strips that could be read over your daily announcements. This also serves as an answer key. You may want to encourage this as a contest. Each day as there is a birthday, you can challenge the kids to write down who the author/illustrator is on the included strips of paper. The kids can bring them to the main office or wherever you designate. Then a strip could be pulled at the end of the day and the winner announced over the loud speaker. This bulletin board will encourage awareness of the contributions these authors and illustrators have made to the world of children’s literature!
Here’s what is included:
